Help for Carers was established in 1980 as a not for profit company. We provide relief from the stresses experienced by people who look after someone with a care need caused by disability, illness or age and need some home based support.
We provide our homecare service across the following boroughs: Wandsworth, Merton, Lambeth, Sutton, Croydon, Richmond and Kingston.
All our personal homecare services are regulated and comply with standards set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We were inspected by the CQC in March 2016 and awarded a “Good” inspection report.
We operate two local Help for Carers offices, one in Lambeth (Brixton) and one in Croydon. In Help for Carers Lambeth we provide a young carers support service, information and advice, signposting and support for carers with mental health needs.
Help for Carers Croydon supports carers by providing free social events, advice and advocacy, support groups for working carers and a Carer Assessment service.
Our Board of Trustees meets bi-monthly and is responsible for the strategic direction and policy of the company. Board members are unpaid and have a breadth of knowledge and experience matching the company’s present and future needs.
